Wear Plate & Wear Protection

Reduce your operating costs with the CC1500 chromium carbide wearplate

The CC1500 Wearplate will outlast quenched and tempered steels by up to 12 times and white iron by up to 4 times. It maintains the efficiency of chutes, bins, hoppers, buckets and other material handling equipment because it is quickly polished by abrading materials. This produces a surface with a low coefficient of friction, which lessens the likelihood of hang-ups.

These properties render this product suitable for use under extreme operating conditions where the cost of downtime far outweighs the initial expenditure or the capital outlay of replacement.

Where handling or weight factor are a consideration, the CC1500 Wearplate offers substantial weight savings for the same wearlife as heat treated alloy steels or white irons.

Manufacture

CC1500 is a highly effective wear resistant plate which is manufactured using a submerged arc welding process whereby extremely hard chromium carbides are deposited as an overlay into a mild steel or chromium steel backing plate.

The final weld deposit, or matrix, is hard but very tough and gives excellent wear and impact resistance.

Fixing

The plate may be welded into position or alternatively may be fixed using plow bolts or stud bolts.

Its small bead weld deposit allows for easy formability around radiused sections and is also responsible for its remarkable impact resistance.

CC1200 Chromium Carbide Wearplate

The CC1200 wearplate complements CC1500 wearplate.

It has different wear characteristics to CC1500, more suited to certain applications, while maintaining the same high quality standards.

Like CC1500, CC1200 wearplate is a duplex products consisting of Chromium primary carbides in a carbide bearing austenitic alloy, welded onto a shock absorbing mild steel base.

Both are produced using a submerged arc welding process that delivers a highly uniform and smooth layer that is well suited to the flow of abrasive materials.

The unique microstructure of CC1200 also ensures the product performs under high impact conditions.”

Typical applications for CC1200 are:

  • Liner plates on mobile machines, including dump truck liners
  • Fixed plant liners, chutes, screens, and deflector plates
  • High speed conveyor chutes, fan blades, and feeder bins
  • Various diameter abrasive media pipes
  • Bucket protection and skid plates.

Both CC1200 wearplate and CC1500 wearplate come in a variety of sizes and thicknesses and can be cut to shape for custom uses.

The factory also produces finished products to customer specifications.

CTC2000 Tungsten Carbide Wearplate

CTC2000 is a tungsten carbide wearplate designed to provide superior performance in the most demanding conditions.

It is a modified duplex wearplate which contains significant additions (30-35%) of tungsten carbide.

Like CC1500 and CC1200 it is a duplex material composed of a  chromium -tungsten carbide  bearing austenitic  alloy  welded  into  a  mild  steel  base.  In addition to these complex carbides some undissolved tungsten carbide particles are dispersed throughout the alloy overlay.

CTC2000 was developed in conjunction with the OK Tedi Reliability Engineering Team, to improve wear characteristics in chutes.  Detailed analysis of the ore flow characteristics resulted in the development of CTC2000.  The new product was evaluated in closely monitored, detailed trials involving a number of alternative products.  The CTC2000 delivered an increase in life of approximately 129 % over the benchmark product.  In addition, operations were able to utilise a LIGHTER plate than previously used.
